As The Story Unfolds

Today I am 21 weeks and 2 days pregnant. About 4 weeks ago I canceled my appointment with my doctor after meeting with a midwife. I decided then that my very best option of having a natural childbirth was to give birth at home. I have done enough research to make my head explode, but also to give me an overwhelming sense of peace that I am making the best decision for both me and Joseph. This decision has followed a very long process, and there is still lots of preparation to be done. But, I am confident that by stepping out and doing what I feel is right will have a huge impact on my upcoming birth. I hope to share my story with others who are unfamiliar with home births and to share the facts with them. I also want to encourage others to step out into the great big world of healthy childbirth.

I'm SO jealous. I wanted to do a water birth but couldn't due to heart. Oh well. I hope you do a water birth.

I guess I should have added (for those that don't know) you can do a water birth at home.
